Family Forward (previously known as Parents Anonymous) offers you the Middle Way Parent Program.  This program is designed to make your job as a parent a little bit easier! There is certainly no one way that everyone must parent, but these classes will provide you with the mind set and skills that will allow you to use less negative energy and climb into bed at night liking yourself and your children.

What’s in it for you?

The program begins by inviting you to look at your own experience as a child, where you are in your parenting now, and where you would like to be as you move forward. As the classes progress you will have the opportunity to explore:

The term "parent" is extended to include anyone who is, or will be, acting as a caregiver to children (i.e. step-parents, foster parents, adoptive parents, parent partners, expecting parents and grandparents). Throughout the program, participants are encouraged to adapt discussions and activities to meet their own set of parenting circumstances.

What it means to empower children and enhance self-esteem;

The difference between punishment and discipline;

How to talk so that children are encouraged to hear you and listen so they are comfortable talking about what’s important to them;

How to use choices and consequences (a reaction produced by a cause following a choice or set of choices that resulted in a specific action) effectively;

Various strategies for managing out-of-control behavior;

The power of praise and encouragement;

The values that are important in your home and how to communicate them to your children;

How other parents feel about parenting and what ideas they have for providing guidance and discipline.

Program Goals:

To encourage you to bring
balance and nurturing

to your own life.

To provide you with the opportunity to teach and learn from other parents through sharing

To equip you with new ideas and parenting skills that will allow you to create a very personal and loving lifelong relationship with your children.

To assist you in bringing a discipline style into your home that is empowering, enhances self-esteem and helps your children develop self-control.

To have some fun and to laugh…so that some of this joy and laughter may go home with you!
